Terms and conditions

To ensure that everyone has a great time at The Hang Out Venue, we ask that everyone adheres to the following rules of play and terms and conditions.

The Hang Out Venue is a safe and fun environment where a strict eight to 12 year old age policy applies. We are designed specifically for this age group, so they can hang out with friends old and new, stretch their boundaries and create lasting memories. They want and need more than soft play but are not 100% ready for the big wide world, just yet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rule of Play, including Terms and conditions

 

1 - Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18 +) who must remain in the building at all times. The Hang Out Venue Ltd does not accept responsibility for the supervision of children. Unaccompanied adults (adults with no children in their party) are not permitted.

2 – Our sessions are for 8 - 12 year olds only. This protects the founding purpose and mission. Which is for children of this age group to socialise with other children of the same age, in a safe place, with their well behaved adult.

3- Children or adults who are unwell should not visit the play centre.

4 - Play sessions last two hours. Booking online is recommended. £10.99 per child, which guarantees entrance. We have a strict capacity policy.  Tickets are non-refundable however you are able to reschedule your booking on our website providing you give at least 48 hours notice. (Please note that a booking can only be rescheduled once)

5 - Each 2 hour play session must be joined at the start. All customers are to sign in on arrival. The door will close after 10 minutes. 

6. Opening times are: Monday to Friday Term time: 16:15 – 18:15 or 18:30 -20:30.

Monday to Friday school holidays, and every Saturday: 09:00 – 11:00, 11:15 - 13:15, 13:30 - 15:30, 15:45 - 17:45 or 18:00 -  20:00

Sunday's: 10:00 - 12:00, 12:15 - 14:15, 14:15 - 16:15, 16:-15 - 18:15

Our online system will always have up to date sessions and availability.

7. Once your session ends please leave promptly. Our staff will give a 15 minute warning at the end of the session. Leaving all activities used tidy. 

8. If you need to leave the session early, please inform a member of staff who will sign you out and ensure exits are closed securely. 

9. - We re-set the areas as well as clear and clean the cafe before each session which means that we cannot allow you entry before the actual session start time. 

10. All games and activities are to be tidied away after use. Please ensure all items are in the relevant boxes with all pieces (especially board games and jigsaws etc).

11. The Hang Out Venue will try to ensure that as many activities as possible are available for use by customers. However, we reserve the right, without prior notice, to close and change the availability of activities and or operating hours.

12. - The Hang Out Venue reserves the right to close the whole or any part of any activity at any time or to restrict the number of individuals having access to the activity. Activities may vary. 

13. - We ask that both you and your children follow a ‘be fair, kind and polite’ approach to play so that everyone has fun, and tidy up as you play. It is the responsibility of the supervising adult to ensure children under their supervision are well behaved at all times.  

Any persons showing violent, aggressive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, insulting or disrespecting behaviour, including foul language,  under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be refused entry or even banned from the premises. The Hang Out Venue Ltd reserves the right to do this without refunding admission and all abusive behaviour towards other customers or our staff will be reported to the police.

14 - We operate a secure entry and exit system to the venue however we accept no liability in the event of your personal property/belongings being lost, damaged or stolen during your visit. 

15 - All accidents must be reported to a member of staff to ensure we can provide any necessary assistance and record the incident.

16 - We cannot be held responsible for accidents which occur as a result of the child's behaviour when playing or due to a lack of supervision by the accompanying adult. The Hang Out is a relaxed cafe, which serves hot drinks, thus a no running rule applies.

17. Arts & crafts activities can be messy. It is the responsibility of the supervising adult to ensure children under their supervision are dressed appropriately. We accept no liability in the event of personal property being damaged.

18. The Hang Out operates a ‘No Picnic Policy’. This means no outside food to be brought into or consumed on the premises. This policy is necessary for us to comply with our liability insurance and to ensure we adhere to local health and safety regulations, and to ensure safety all customers, especially those with food allergies. 

A strict no nut policy is in place. Several allergies, especially with children can be touch triggered. This is in-line with the association for indoor play. To avoid embarrassment, if  your child has special dietary requirements then please speak to a manager who will be able to advise. (This policy also applies to birthday cakes too).

19 - All food and drink must remain in the cafe area.

20 - We take Safeguarding seriously. All staff are fully DBS checked. Children are not the Hang Out Venues responsibility, however we will always be risk aware and ensure the venue is as safe as possible. For example, when the garden cabin opens there will live stream CCTV and a screen visible in the main room. Our safeguarding policy and risk assessment is available upon request.

21. Photography and/or filming for personal use when children themselves, parents, carers or spectators are taking photographs or filming at our events and the images are for personal use, our guidance about image sharing in the event programmes and/or announce details of our photography policy includes:

  • reminding parents, carers and children that they need to give consent for The Hang Out Venue Ltd to take and use their images
  • asking for photos taken during the event not to be shared on social media or asking people to gain permission from children, their parents and carers before sharing photographs and videos that include them
  • recommending that people check the privacy settings of their social media account to understand who else will be able to view any images they share 
  • reminding children, parents and carers  they can talk to out on duty manager if they have any concerns about images being shared.

22 - If you wish to provide customer feedback or raise a complaint, we ask if possible, to raise your issue to the manager on duty at the time of your visit to see if they are able to resolve any problems for you at first point of contact. If you cannot resolve the problem at site, we ask you to write to us at info@thehangoutvenue.co.uk. Please be advised it may take up to 14 working days to respond to your feedback or complaint, this may be due to any investigative work that needs to be carried out. Please include in your email the date and time of your visit and any other information you believe will assist us in any investigation.

23 - Please report any broken equipment so that it can be removed and replaced. Upon leaving the building please ensure that any Hang Out property is left behind. 

24 - Please ensure you take all belongings with you when leaving our venue. Any lost property found will be kept and stored for 7 days. After this period any unclaimed lost property will either be given to charity or disposed of. If you have lost any items and wish to check if we have them, please email or call. For certain items we will require proof of ownership.

25 - All content and information is for general information use only. Use of any information from this or our website is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable. It is the individual’s responsibility to check that any products or services offered at any site meet their specific requirements.
